Alexandru Ionescu is the president of the Association "Joy in Giving", a humanitarian organization in Romania that provides support to people in need.

Alexandru Ionescu describes himself as an autodidact in search of personal and spiritual development. He has worked with psychologists, psychotherapists and priests to better understand the needs of those he helps. In an interview, he emphasized the importance of love and attention in children's development, noting that the lack of this in the early years can have long-term consequences. This conviction led him to become actively involved in supporting disadvantaged children and families. 

Under his leadership, the "Joy in Giving" Association has launched projects such as the "St. John the Merciful Center", which supports people struggling with addictions. This center aims to provide support and reintegration into society for those affected. It has also produced the documentary "Joy as a gift from the Holy Mountain", which explores monastic life on Mount Athos and the spiritual teachings of the Athonite Fathers.
