Jonathan Pageau is a renowned French-Canadian icon carver, writer, and public speaker specializing in the symbolism of Eastern Orthodox Christianity. After returning from Africa, he studied theology and iconology at the University of Sherbrooke, a period that rekindled his passion for art and led him to specialize in carved iconography in 2003.
Internationally recognized through his YouTube channel, The Symbolic World, Pageau has become an influential interpreter of deep narrative patterns while also serving as the editor of the Orthodox Arts Journal. The 2022 success of his graphic novel God’s’Dog: Monster, co-created with his brother Matthieu, solidified his status as a storyteller and prompted him to found Symbolic World Press (SWP) to reclaim and revitalize the traditional storytelling landscape.
