At the beginning of the 20th century, two dramatic realities leave a profound mark on families in rural Serbia: men leaving for the United States in search of work and a better life, and the outbreak of the First World War, which brings yet another painful separation.
Against the backdrop of these trials, Riches is a story of longing, sacrifice, and hope, but above all, of the true wealth people can hold on to when almost everything else is taken away from them: family, love, and the enduring bond with those who remain at home.
