Synopsis: Father Professor Constantin Galeriu was born in the village of Răzeși (Bacău) on November 21, 1918. He attended the “St. George” Theological Seminary in Roman, followed by the Faculty of Theology in Bucharest, defending his Bachelor's thesis titled The Deification of Man under the guidance of the great theologian-poet Nichifor Crainic. He was ordained at the Zlătari Church in Bucharest, subsequently becoming a priest in the village of Podul Văleni, Poenarii Burchii commune (Prahova). From 1947 until 1973, he served at the “St. Basil” Church in Ploiești, after which, for three decades, he was the parish priest of the “St. Silvester” Church in Bucharest.
He suffered communist persecution, harassment, and imprisonment, bearing his cross and undergoing a spiritual rebirth each time.
A beloved spiritual father, confessor, and self-sacrificing servant in Christ, Father Professor Constantin Galeriu passed away to the Lord on August 10, 2003, leaving behind an unparalleled spiritual legacy in the souls of those he shepherded.
