Beyond the Peak is a documentary exploring the deep connection between nature and the divine, following a group of Orthodox Christian climbers from Indiana. The story begins in 2010, when David, grieving the loss of his brother Zachary, sets out to fulfill his wish to climb a mountain and pray for his soul. Alongside his brother-in-law Ranko, he ascends Blanca Peak, facing exhaustion, low oxygen, and threatening weather. At the summit, they hold an emotional memorial service.
This transformative experience leads them to found the “Mountain Men of Indianapolis,” blending mountaineering with prayer. As the group grows, the dangers of climbing become clear, inspiring them to bring the Divine Liturgy into the mountains. Returning to Blanca Peak, they overcome extreme challenges to hold the service at high altitude. Through this journey, pain becomes purpose, and their bond evolves into a deeply spiritual brotherhood beyond the peak.
